The City of Laguna Hills does not require a business license; however, we do require a Certificate of Use & Occupancy for all new & existing business located in the City of Laguna Hills and businesses that are changing the business name, changing ownership,or moving to a new location. A Certificate of Use & Occupancy is required before you can legally occupy your building and conduct business operations.In order to obtain a Certificate of Use & Occupancy the following must be submitted between 1:00p.m. - 5:30p.m., Mon-Thurs and 1:00 - 5:00p.m, Fridays .(All monetary transactions must be complete 15 min. prior to closing): 1)A Completed Certificate of Use & Occupancy Application Packet 2)An 8 1/2" x 11" scaled & dimensioned floor plan(total square footage & proposed use) 3) Payment of $95.00 made out to "City of Laguna Hills" (cash, check, Visa or Mastercard)
If the use & occupancy does not involve tenant improvements contact the Building Department to schedule an on-site inspection @ (949) 707-2660. All requests left before 4:00p.m. will be scheduled for the next business day. Once inspected and approved by the Orange county Fire Authority, an official Certificate of Use & Occupancy will be mailed to you and will remain on file with the City.
