Janine Heft, Mayor

Experience

Prior to her election to the Laguna Hills City Council, Janine Heft served Orange County taxpayers for six years on the Orange County Assessment Appeals Board (AAB), to which she was nominated by then Supervisor (now State Senator) John Moorlach and was confirmed unanimously by the OC Board of Supervisors for three terms. During her tenure on the AAB, she was responsible for hearing property tax appeals for the County of Orange and issued rulings in over 100 cases.


Community Involvement

Janine has been a longtime volunteer and board member in many civic, charitable, and professional organizations, including the South Orange County Women’s Council of Realtors, the Laguna Hills Chamber of Commerce, the Orange County Association of Realtors (OCAR), and the Valencia Parent Teacher Association. She currently represents the City of Laguna Hills on the following regional boards:


  • Vice Chair – Transportation Corridor Agency (TCA)
  • President – Association of Cities Orange County (ACC-OC)
  • Member – Orange County Drowning Prevention Task Force


Family

Janine and her husband have been homeowners in Laguna Hills for the past 18 years and have two children.
